Special Application Food Meters

We have manufactured a range of products for use within the food and drink industry with very specialist and distinct applications in mind.

For example, did you know that the colour of untreated honey originates from the botanical varieties used by the bees, but the colour of honey tends to darken with age, or changes in conservation of production used by beekeepers (using old beehives, contact with metals, exposure to light, etc). Thus what may seem a trivial exercise is actually incredibly useful in the manufacturing of honey. We also have a colourimeter designed specifically for maple syrup, so you can stay consistant and improve the quality of your maple syrup production.

The quality of olive oil can be detected by testing the acidity, as this is the primary indicator of olive oil purity and freshness. Olive oil is considered to be 'extra virgin' when it's acidity level is below 1%. A low acidity value also indicates a natural extraction process occured soon after harvesting.

Since the presence of haze in beer is usually associated with inferior quality, beer clarity is an important factor influencing consumer acceptance. Haze in beer is a natural phenomenon that can be observed after storage for one to three weeks. A common way to determine beer haze is by visual comparison, but this is both subjective and inefficient. We've come up with a specialist meter  that can log and recall up to 300 tests, and is PC compatible.

We also have a range of products for use within the dairy industry including titrators and pH meters, as well as products designed specifically for use with meat, including a meat pH meter. For all these products, visit the shop to find the one you need.
