Within the food industry, temperature is one of the most important parameters to monitor and control. Temperature is important in production to ensure that the food is not spoiled and the quality is not compromised, therefore enhancing it's value. It is therefore vital to monitor and document the temperature to which food has been exposed (for example, fresh meat should be stored at 2 °C, whereas deep freeze meat in storage should have an internal temperature of -22°C.)
