The HI-99131 pH meter and electrode are designed to overcome the problems of accurate pH measurement in the demanding application of plating baths. The meter is fully waterproof and can be fitted in a protective rubber holster for maximum protection. The multilevel LCD display is protected behind an ultrasonically welded window and the keyboard is rubberised.

The electrode features an almost unbreakable stainless steel body which incorporates a temperature sensor to provide automatic temperature compensation. An additional feature of the electrode is an earthing pin (or matching pin) is included. This prevents erroneous pH measurements if readings are being taken in a tank/bath which has other machinery running next to or feeding into it. A mini amplifier is also built in to this special electrode to boost the pH signal back to the meter and reducing the chance of electrical interference from affecting the results.

The result of the matching pin and the mini amplifier is that pH measurements can be taken in plating baths containing heating elements or stirring systems without a problem.
