The HI-98321 is a waterproof Conductivity and Total Dissolved Solids meter which has been produced in direct response to customer feedback. A number of applications have the requirement to 'capture' a sample of water and then to note the readings. The HI-98321 has a sampling chamber on top of the meter which is used to scoop up a water sample. The meter can then be placed on a flat surface and the results noted down.

Fully sealed against water and dust, the meter features a dual level LCD display which gives the conductivity or TDS reading together with the temperature of the water. All readings are automatically temperature compensated and calibration of the meter is also automatic.

Each time the meter is switched on, it performs a circuit functionality test and also checks the voltage of the batteries and displays battery life remaining before switching to measurement mode. A useful feature when using instruments outdoors as it minimises the risk of finding flat batteries - not that it is very likely as the meter can run for 2000 hours on a set of batteries and includes automatic shut-off after 8 minutes of inactivity.
