The HI-98140 is designed to be used with the latest innovation in pH technology; the 'intelligent' pH electrode. These new electrodes incorporate a microprocessor which stores the calibration date and data matched to the pH meter. When the electrode is next connected to the meter (or when the meter is next switched on), the electrode transmits this data to the pH meter and includes a unique electrode serial number for complete traceability.

The meter itself has been enhanced to make the most of this technology, and has a greatly extended pH and temperature range together with a dual level backlit LCD display feature calibration guide symbols, stability indicator and electrode recognition. The operator may even choose a maximum time interval after which pH recalibration should occur and the meter will prompt the user to do so.

The meter is supplied complete with intelligent electrode (which incorporates a temperature sensor), pH buffer 4.01 and 7.01 calibration solutions, electrode cleaning solution and an attaché case.
