Maple Syrup transmittance analyzer, HI-95759, measures the percent light transmittance of maple syrup as compared to analytical reagent glycerol.
The transmittance value allows identification of syrup quality class.
Measurements are performed by using matched square optical cuvets having a 10mm light path.
When the syrup color is very light, that can be compared to minimum standards of light transmittance, the quality level is very high, while when the color is very dark, the classification level is low.
High quality syrup, mustn't have suspensions, bad odors and must have a minimum density of 66.0 Brix (20C).
The HI-95759 is supplied complete with rugged carrying case, 6 glass cuvets, one light shield cap, 2 x 5 mL syringes, 30 mL of glycerol, 9V battery and instructions.
