Nickel is commonly used by the electroplating industry, but is also used in batteries, fuel cells and hydrogenation of vegetable oils in the food industry.
Even though nickel is regarded as non-toxic to man, concentrations found in wastewater exceeding 0.5 mg/L can cause damage to certain plants and aquatic life.
The Hanna HI-93740 Nickel meter is extremely easy to use and gives direct readout on the digital display in mg/L. To obtain a reading simply take a small sample of water in the glass cuvette supplied, add the reagent (not included), and then place the cuvette in the measuring chamber of the instrument.
