Molybdenum or molybdate are salts often used in industrial cooling towers. They are non-toxic and a popular choice over and above using chromates as corrosion inhibitors. In addition, molybdenum has a wide range of uses such as an alloying agent in steel and cast iron fabrication, a pigment in inks and paints and also as a solid lubricant.
The Hanna HI-93730 Molybdenum meter is extremely easy to use and gives direct readout on the digital display in mg/L(ppm). To obtain a reading simply take a small sample of water in the glass cuvette supplied, add the reagent (not included), and then place the cuvette in the measuring chamber of the instrument.
