Phosphates are particulary important for the growth and development of plant roots, hence their incorporation in agricultural fertilizers. In addition they are used in detergents as as an additive to the water in heating systems. However, high concentrations of phosphates can cause environmental polution, they are for example, a primary cause of eutrophication.
The Hanna HI-93713 Phosphate Low Range Meter is extremely easy to use and gives direct readout on the digital display in mg/L(ppm). To obtain a reading simply take a small sample of water in the glass cuvette supplied, add the reagent (not included), and then place the cuvette in the measuring chamber of the instrument.
