Crop storage temperature and humidty are critical to ensure a good return on your investment. Within our product range we have a selection of thermometers, dataloggers, remote sensors and printing meters which will measure, monitor and record these two important parameters.
When storing crops such as shallots or grain, the relative humidity and temperature are citical factors to ensure the value of the crop is maintained.
Both humidity and temperature can be measured using portable meters, but when the storage area is to be kept sealed so as to maintain the internal atmosphere - such as when drying shallots, then a humidity recording device is a better idea.
For this application we supply meter which can be used both as portable meter for instant on the spot checks, as well as a datalogging device. Our HI-91610 has a digital LCD display to give readout but also a built-in printer and a 16,000 memory datalogger. This battery powered meter can be set up to print, or record into memory (or both if you want) the temperature, humidity, time and date and then placed into the storage shed and left unattended. The sensor is attached to the meter with a 2m cable, allowing it to be positioned within the crop to be monitored if so required.
